Shopexi – Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Shopexi (M.T.A). By booking a tour, making a payment, or using our website, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

2. Safety and Security

While Turkey is generally safe for travelers, we urge all customers to stay aware of their surroundings and follow the guidance of Shopexi tour leaders and staff. Key safety guidelines include:

• Store passports, excess cash, and important documents in hotel safes or with hotel reception.




• Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

• Be cautious of pickpocketing, especially in crowded areas like Istanbul.

• Beware of scams such as being invited to a bar by strangers, which may result in exorbitant bills.

• Avoid restaurants without visible pricing or that attempt to upsell without your consent.

• Refrain from joining or staying near protests or demonstrations.

Your guide will provide safety briefings and recommend trustworthy venues during your trip.

3. Packing and Preparation

We recommend traveling light. Many buildings lack ramps and public transportation can be crowded.

What to bring:

• Valid passport and visa (if required)

• Printed itinerary, insurance documents, and travel confirmations

• Modest clothing for conservative regions and mosque visits (women may wish to bring a headscarf)

4. Money and Payments

The local currency is Turkish Lira (TL). Shopexi accepts payments in TL, Euro (EUR), or US Dollar (USD).

• Most urban vendors accept debit/credit cards.

• Cash is necessary for local purchases and tips.

• Exchange offices and ATMs will be pointed out by your guide.

• Avoid exchanging large sums at the airport due to poor rates.

Emergency Cash: Keep approximately 100 EUR in reserve for unexpected situations.

5. Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is customary in Turkey:

• Restaurants: 5–10% of the bill

• Taxis: Round up the fare

• Hotels: 1 EUR per person/day

• Tours:

  • Guide: 4–5 EUR per person/day

  • Driver: 2 EUR per person/day

Tipping is voluntary and based on your satisfaction.

6. Optional Activities

We offer additional activities to enhance your itinerary. These are available on our website or upon request during the tour.

7. Meeting Your Guide

Meeting details will be provided via email upon reservation. For multi-day tours, your guide will meet you at 6:00 PM in the hotel lobby on arrival day unless otherwise arranged.

9. Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering:

• Medical emergencies

• Personal liability

• Trip cancellation

• Lost or stolen luggage

10. Tour Booking and Confirmation

• All bookings are confirmed by email.

• Day tours can be booked up to 24 hours before the start time.

• Multi-day and group tours require booking at least 7 days in advance.

11. Tour Itinerary Disclaimer

While Shopexi strives to follow the published itinerary, we reserve the right to make reasonable changes due to:

• Weather conditions

• Safety concerns

• Local regulations or unforeseen circumstances

12. Payment Terms

• Credit Card: Full payment at the time of booking

• Bank Transfer: 25% deposit at booking, 75% due before tour start

Accepted currencies: TL, EUR, USD

13. Cancellation and Refund Policy

• More than 15 days before tour: Full refund

• 15–10 days: 25% cancellation fee

• 7–10 days: 50% cancellation fee

• Less than 7 days: No refund

No-shows: 100% cancellation fee.

Note: Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Travel insurance is recommended to cover unexpected cancellations.

14. Arrival & Airport Transfers 

• If a transfer is booked, a driver will meet you outside the terminal with a sign bearing your name.

• Hotel check-in is generally from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

• Luggage storage is usually available if you arrive early.

15. Privacy Policy

Shopexi (M.T.A) is committed to safeguarding your personal data. By booking with us, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information for travel-related services.

We may collect information including:

• Name, contact details, passport info

• Travel preferences and dietary needs

• Medical/emergency details (as needed)

• Payment details and trip evaluations

Your data may be shared with trusted service providers (hotels, airlines, etc.) strictly for the purpose of providing services you’ve requested.

Data Protection Measures

We employ administrative and technical safeguards to protect your data. However, online data transmission can never be 100% secure. We retain personal data only as long as needed for service delivery and legal compliance.

Data Transfers Outside the EEA

If you are based in the UK or EU/EEA, your data may be transferred to Turkey or third countries. We will ensure reasonable protections are in place in line with data privacy regulations.

Legal Disclosure

We may disclose personal data when:

• Required by law or government order

• Enforcing our terms

• Preventing fraud or harm
